Draft for review. Every figure on this page is transcribed from the instrument cited beside it; the reviewer of record has not signed the values off. Check the cited provision before relying on an amount.

What happens when you open a page here

Opening a page here sends your browser’s ordinary request to the server that stores this site, and that server returns a page. Nothing on the page asks you who you are, and nothing on it can find out: there is no account, no sign-in, no newsletter, no comment thread, no chat widget and no embedded third-party frame of any kind.

What this site does not collect

There is no form on this site that stores anything. The calculators run entirely in your browser against figures that were computed when the page was built, so what you type into them — a speed, a posted limit, a province — never leaves the device and is never sent anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone.

There is also no licence-number field, no notice-reference field and no date-of-birth field anywhere on this site, and nothing here consults a driver record. Both provinces run their own lookup services; this site links out to them and never imitates one. If a page ever appears to be asking you for a document number, it is not this site.

Measurement

This site uses Google Analytics 4 in a cookieless mode: consent is denied by default for every visitor and no identifier is stored. Google’s tag sets no analytics cookie.

This paragraph is generated from the site’s own configuration rather than written by hand, so it cannot describe a state the site is not in. If measurement is ever switched on, the sentence above changes with it and this page needs no edit.

One exception, named here rather than passed over in silence: on every page view the measurement code checks whether the gr_int flag is present in your browser. That is our own exclusion for internal visits, so that our test traffic does not end up in the figures. It is written only when a page is opened with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage. Without that, nothing is written, and nothing on this site links to it. It holds a single flag and nothing about you. You delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

This page describes what the site does. It deliberately does not tell you which privacy legislation applies to it: that is a legal conclusion, the instruments read for this site do not support one, and a confident citation here would be exactly the kind of unsourced claim the rest of the site exists to avoid.

Who runs this site, and how to reach it

Ticketmètre is built and operated by the small team that publishes it; there is no company behind it that you would recognise, no partner, no advertiser and no relationship with any court, ministry, insurer or law firm. One address reaches the people who write these pages, and it is the only address on the site.

Scope

What this site covers

  • Covered

Ontario and Québec only. Those are the two jurisdictions whose instruments have been read for this site, and every figure here belongs to one of them.

  • Unmeasured here

Eleven further provinces and territories are UNMEASURED here — that means they have not been read for this site, not that they are absent from Canada’s fine landscape. Nothing on this site is a national claim.

  • Out of scope

Municipal by-law offences — parking above all — are priced by roughly four hundred municipalities and are out of scope. This site prices provincial offences.
